
Between non-profit advocacy and private sector lobbying, Larry Gonzalez has walked the halls of Capitol Hill now for over two decades.
Larry joined The Raben Group (now Raben) in 2006 and helped establish the Latin Strategies practice. This internal practice group helps clients—corporate and non-profit—develop and implement strategies to best engage the fast-growing Latino community and Hispanic Members of Congress.
A leader in numerous legislative battles, Larry has a deep understanding of the importance of coalition building and the nuances of the policy making process. He is Board President of GreenLatinos, a national non-profit of Latino leaders confronting national and local environmental issues in the Latino community. He is a co-founder of the Hispanic Lobbyists Association (HLA) and served as President in 2017 and 2018.
Prior to joining Raben, Larry was the Washington, DC Office Director for the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund, a nationally recognized association of more than 7,000 Latino public officials.
Before moving to Washington D.C., he served as a legislative aide in the Illinois State Senate and worked as a legislative and communications aide for the Cook County, Illinois Board of Commissioners and as Director of Communications for Cook County Clerk David Orr. He has extensive political campaign experience, having run successful State Senate, State Representative and County Board campaigns.
Larry was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Journalism from Western Illinois University.
