Kieran Ramsey is a retired federal law enforcement and U.S. Intelligence Community leader with a 32-year career dedicated to national security. Currently, he serves with the non-profit Global Reach, focusing on the urgent mission of bringing Americans home from captivity abroad.

Kieran’s most recent role was at the FBI’s highest executive level as an Assistant Director and the FBI’s Senior Representative to a U.S. Intelligence Community agency. In this capacity, he leveraged his expertise and resourcefulness to ensure seamless integration of intelligence capabilities across hostage situations and a broad spectrum of national security threats, including counterterrorism, counterespionage, cyber security, and transnational organized crime.

A nationally recognized leader, Kieran previously served as the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Portland Field Office. It was during his time in Oregon that he became actively involved with the League of Minority Voters (LMV). In 2023, he was honored with LMV’s Liberty Award and continues to support the organization’s mission. Kieran strongly believes in LMV’s emphasis on partnership among communities, policymakers, and institutions—values that resonate deeply with his lifelong commitment to service and justice.

Throughout his distinguished career, Kieran has received numerous awards, including the U.S. Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service, the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association Award, the International Association of Chiefs of Police Award, and the International Narcotics Officers Association Award. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University and a master’s degree from Georgetown University. He also served as an adjunct faculty member for the FBI and has appeared in various documentaries and news programs. Today, he is a sought-after guest speaker on topics such as leadership, community relations, crisis management, and hostage diplomacy.
