My name is Juan Esteban. I’m Colombian-American, born in Houston in 2008 to Colombian parents. I was raised in Brazil and Argentina from 2009 – 2017 before moving back to Houston, where I now attend one of the most diverse high schools in America.

Over the years, I’ve helped my hispanic community in my own way – by helping soccer clubs grow and fundraising for parks that provide free access to their soccer fields. Last year, I helped raise $35,000+ for BuildSoccer Park in Austin, a non-profit that relies on donations to maintain its free-access fields.

Now, with the LMV, I work with other like-minded peers to contribute to minority communities at a more impactful scale than my grassroots efforts. I know we -–the youth— are capable of tackling real-world problems and offering fresh perspectives on these social issues that affect all of us; so, I couldn’t be more excited to do just athat and further the LMV’s goal of empowering minority voices in community and government.
