Anthony is an accomplished senior government affairs professional with more than a decade of cross-sector experience managing public-private partnership development, federal lobbying, public policy strategy and external stakeholder relations. Currently, he serves as part of a dynamic team at the nation’s leading advocate for better quality and more affordable health care for every American. As a proud New Orleans native and Penn Stater, he has distinguished himself as a pivotal connector between the corridors of power and the people, working diligently to make the political system more accessible and responsive to the needs of everyday Americans – including those from disenfranchised or marginalized backgrounds.

After traveling abroad, working for local government in Pittsburgh, and now spending time at the nation’s capital, Anthony became encouraged to pursue his desire to shape policy and actively address inequalities in our country. Currently, Anthony serves as Vice President of Federal Affairs at AHIP (America’s Health Insurance Plans). Just before that, he served as Senior Policy Manager at Lyft, where his focus was to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation – including through transit and micromobility. Previously, he served in the Executive Office of Mayor Muriel Bowser (DC), where his main priority was to build bridges from government resources, services, and information to residents of the District of Columbia on behalf of the Mayor.

Prior to that, Anthony served in the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate, where he advised Members of Congress – including Senator Bob Casey (PA), Senator Jeff Merkley (OR), Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (TX-30), and Congressman David Scott (GA-13) – and worked on policies related to healthcare, education, judiciary, civil rights, and more. Additionally, he has served as Director of Health Policy and Legislative Strategy for the Joint Congressional Staff Task Force on Racial Justice and Reform, where he developed comprehensive policy proposals that communicated the thoughts and values of the Black Americans, as well as articulated legislative efforts to bring equitable solutions to our communities.

As an organized, strategic, and innovative leader that thrives in high-visibility projects with clear deliverables for stakeholders and the business, Anthony possesses the keen ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization. His experience in diverse settings such as political, corporate, and local, state, & federal government environments has molded him into a results-oriented tactician with an exceptional track record in public service, employee resource groups, and government relations.

Anthony has been recognized as a leader amongst peers and colleagues as well as featured in podcasts, magazines, blogs, and panels, but he believes his greatest achievement is being able to give back to his community. As a proud alumnus of many reputable institutions – including the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Woodrow Wilson Foreign Policy Fellowship program, and even the Aspen Institute’s Emerging Government Leaders program – Anthony regularly gives back through his service on non-profit boards, community engagement activities, and philanthropic endeavors. Ultimately, he believes that a community is at its best when all people have the resources, access, and opportunities that will allow them to unapologetically pursue their passions!
