Amy Massingale is an Oregon transplant with deep southern roots. Raised in Texas, Amy
attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Radio/TV/Film
production. She spent the early years of her career producing global television advertising for
brands like Geico, Nike, Microsoft, Honda and others. Amy went on to attain a Master’s degree
in Communications with a specialization in Intercultural Communication. While working toward
her degree, she taught several undergraduate courses and facilitated workshops to enhance
sensitivity to cultural diversity on campus.

Amy has worked professionally for Academy Award winning visual effects studios, brand and
innovation design consultancies and marketing firms. She has also launched a consulting
practice to help coach families on how to best care for a loved one with dementia, informed by
her years as a caregiver to her parents and her work as an educator with the Alzheimer’s
Association.

A lifelong writer, Amy is also a published poet and essayist with work appearing in The New York Times and
numerous literary journals. She is known for her advocacy work around human rights and elder care and is committed to
amplifying the voices of the marginalized in our community.

Amy lives in Northeast Portland with her family.
