Jon Berroya is Internet Association’s (IA) Senior Vice President & General Counsel. Mr. Berroya is responsible for leading the association’s legal, public policy, and regulatory initiatives, which seek to foster innovation, promote economic growth, and empower people through the free and open internet.
Mr. Berroya has been working on technology-related legal and policy issues for over 20 years, during which he has advised companies on a wide range of issues, including: data security/privacy, intellectual property enforcement, and export controls. Before joining IA, Mr. Berroya was the Entertainment Software Association’s Vice President, Legal Affairs. Mr. Berroya also previously worked for BSA | The Software Alliance, he served as in-house counsel to Yahoo! Inc., and he also represented prominent social networking sites, internet portals, and ISPs as a private practitioner. Mr. Berroya began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s Office.
